Alongside Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, Viet Nam has sustained a strong growth trajectory. Entering 2026, the country’s economy is forecast to continue expanding at a robust pace, maintaining its position as one of the fastest-growing economies within the Southeast Asia-6 group.
Notably, Vietnam recorded the highest real GDP growth among the Southeast Asia-6 economies in 2025, reaching 8%, significantly higher than the pre-pandemic average of 7.1%.
Vietnam’s steady progress in recent years has seen its position improve significantly, from 77th in 2021 to 65th in 2022 and 54th last year.
